We’d be looking at a 20-point game for Guillermo Hernangomez if he didn’t blow a bunch of stuff at the rim. 20-point games for foreign rookies is pretty much my wet dream when it comes to making highlights. Thanks a lot Willy. All you had to do was reach up and put the ball in the whole. There may have been confounding factors, defenders, crowd noise, etc., but my point stands. If I were almost seven feet tall there would be no stopping me in the paint (all those Mikan drills I did would finally pay off except I’d just be slamming it every time take that Dylan you frickin’ dickbag not so cocky now that you’re receiving a faceful of ball after I jammed it on your head), so there should be no stopping him either.
To try and atone for his poor shooting, he lead the Knicks in assists tonight, with four. I’d have put an exclamation point at the end of that sentence, but it turns out that three of those assists were pretty much made up by the scorekeepers. This is a trend I’m noticing in the NBA; assists that should never have been assigned are happening more and more often. I feel like I should write a letter or something, but that seems like a lot of work.
