Wilson Chandler’s campaign for sixth man of the year, which seemed so promising early in the season, has come entirely off the rails. The reason is twofold: he was the starter for a stretch of games, and he hasn’t been scoring that well in the month of January. Lou Williams might be getting close to having the award locked up, and Ill Will will, most likely, end the season without any significant NBA hardware to call his own.
With the demise of Ill Will’s candidacy for 6MOTY of the year, so concludes my own #illwill666 hashtag in support of his campaign. It didn’t see widespread usage, so its retirement is unlikely to effect anybody other than the two total people who used it (me and some other dude named Zach; thanks Zach). I don’t know what it is but my hashtags never seem to get off the ground despite me doing all the right things in terms of marketing propaganda and the like. #illwill666 was no exception. I’m actually a little happy that Ill Will has been struggling lately because it means I can mothball my hashtag effort without anybody really noticing or caring.
So, #illwill666 is officially cancelled. If you use it again I will call the police and they will come to your house and arrest you.
