It’s refreshing to see a rookie from this cursed draft class put together some good games. Especially one who was purported to be “raw”, as Marquese Chriss was. His rawness still permeates most aspects of his game, but his talent is capable of overcoming the rawness to put up some good stats. Sometimes. Sometimes, instead, he decides to foul himself out of the game in less than 10 minutes, or pick up techs for no reason.
Or reenact his favorite WWE scenes with Kristaps Porzingis, drawing the ire of NBA fans everywhere. Though that may fall under “immaturity” rather than “rawness”.
Was Chriss supposed to score 27 this quickly in his career? He was scoring in every way tonight. Alley-oops were happening. Three-pointers were happening. Poster dunks on Greg Monroe who wishes he could jump even a fourth as high as Chriss were happening. Free throws were happening. Midrange things were happenings. It was basically all happening for Chriss, and the Suns still lost by 25.
That’s what happens when you play the Bucks, I guess. Because of how good the Bucks are, so good that even when you get 27 unexpected points you still lose by a ton.
