The Magic are apparently feeling some buyer’s regret regarding Serge Ibaka, with rumors claiming that they are looking to trade him. Makes sense, unlike most of their ideas. They made the initial trade for him as a win-now kind of move, they aren’t winning now, so he doesn’t really have a purpose on the roster. His contract his expiring besides, and they’ve given him no reason to re-sign, so might as well get what they can for him before he signs with the Cavs for the minimum.
This dominating scoring performance (considering he didn’t take any free-throws) is surely an attempt by the Magic FO to showcase their stretchy bigman. Frank Vogel told him “make your shots tonight, big boy, and we can have you out of here by tomorrow”, and Ibaka responded “Who you calling ‘boy’?” but went out and did it anyway. Expect a trade soon. Teams will want in on this dude after they watch these highlights.
