Earlier in the season, it was possible to say that Evan Fournier was the best player on the Magic. It wasn’t necessarily correct, but you could say it and people wouldn’t laugh you out of the room (not like you could ever find a room of people, outside of Orlando, whose basketball opinions were advanced enough to know anything about the Magic). I don’t know if you can still say it, though.
Actually, looking at the roster, who else could be better? Ibaka? Vucevic? In theory it would be Aaron Gordon, but in practice, nah. I guess I figured out the reason the Magic are so bad this year, when they were looking to make the playoffs: their best player might be frickin’ Fournier. The Fournicator is good, but is he a first banana type of guy? Hell to the no.
