Alan Williams 14 Points/4 Blocks Full Highlights (2/10/2017)

This video loses a little something with the national commentators. These ESPN hotshots only know the most rudimentary facts about Alan Williams, which they undoubtedly were reading off the fact sheet they were given before the game: the fact that his mom is Phoenix chief of police, his college, his recent playing time (not much). They seemed faintly pleased by Alan “Big Sauce” Williams’ hustle baskets, but were not exactly enthusiastic in their commentary.

You can bet Eddie Johnson on the Suns broadcast crew would have totally lost his mind if Big Sauce had a good game in his presence. After the first two buckets there would have been some words of encouragement followed probably by an anecdote about how Big Sauce once had five extra large pizzas delivered to his hotel room during a road trip. With each passing block and basket, Johnson would get more and more frenzied. He would claim that Taj Gibson had no chance of containing Alan Williams, that Robin Lopez could only stand and watch while Alan Williams grabbed all the rebounds, that Nikola Mirotic wants no part of the physicality of Alan Williams. Williams himself would be called “young fella” fifteen times.

But we don’t get any of that commentary. Instead, we get bored ESPN dudes who are more interested in Durants’ return to OKC than they are about the Suns getting a surprise win over the Bulls thanks in large part to the hustle and tenacity of the Saucy One.
