Ricky Rubio just keeps having this type of game. Mid-teens points, mid-teens assists. Sometimes 20 points, but never 20 assists. I’m not getting tired of thse vids yet, because who could ever tire of his passing, but would it kill him to put up like 30 and 20 or something? Or even just one or the other. Zach LaVine is injured. That should mean more balltime, and more stats, for our favorite handsome Spaniard.
Ricky’s per36 stats are down across the board this year, except in turnovers. I personally feel like high turnovers are a small price to pay for the playmaking he brings to the table, but I guess Thibs sees it differently. A more conservative Rubio is still fun, and his choosiness with his shots is paying off: he’s edging ever closer to the elusive 40% shooting mark on the season! It will take some work to get there, but if he does it, maybe we can find a new guy to make fun of for not being able to shoot. Like Solomon Hill.
