The NBA, earlier in the season, reached “Peak Nicolas”, where there were three separate dudes named Nicolas plying their trade for the association. Add in the four “Nikola”s, and I’m thinking what happened to dudes just named “Nick”? Nick Collison doesn’t count (too old). This is America, this isn’t some other heathen country, this is the theocratic empire of the USA and we speak English and have proper English names like Nick and Henry and Peter and LeBron.
Nicolas Batum is certainly the most prolific of these heathen Nicolas’s. He’s averaging 15-6-7 for the Hornets this year, almost career-high averages across the board, and still no one cares. Not godless French people, nor other unenlightened Euros, or even holy Americans. No one at all except for a few scattered Hornets fans. Is it because he doesn’t dunk enough?
That’s the only thing I can think of, because he’s a great player in his own way with little in the way of glaring faults. How many players are as much of a triple-double threat as he is? Only a few. So why don’t people care? People care about Jokic, a lot, and this guy is doing kind of the same stuff! I don’t frickin’ understand.
