Vince Carter is 40. Officially, as of a few weeks ago. There’s no turning back now: he’ll be 40 years old or more for the rest of his life.
I think his age is starting to show a little bit. He started off the season looking spry and springy; now he looks haggard and weary. This could just be my perception of him knowing his age. Maybe he feels as good as ever, any signs of his slowing down just me projecting my fear of senescence.
Whatever the case, it doesn’t take much gas left in the tank to step on the court and shoot a couple threes. If he wanted, Vince could do that for another couple years, maybe mixing in a dunk here and there. That’s another thing he can probably do for another couple years. Maybe even more. Dr. J can still throw down, and that dude must be 65 or 70 by now.
