Okay. Fine. I’m willing to admit that Derrick Williams can be a useful player for the Cavs if he focuses on hustling and cutting and defense and rebounding and all that intangible stuff. Not what he was drafted 2nd overall for, but sometimes you have to reinvent yourself so you can play better with LeBron.
That means no shooting threes unless LeBron passed him the ball and can get an assist out of it. Otherwise, it’s too low-percentage of a shot. Maybe we can extend that to all shots. No shooting unless LeBron could get credited with a dime. Actually, let’s extend it even further. NO ONE gets to shoot unless LeBron directly passed them the ball. No one except LeBron, obviously. I’m pretty sure Wilt had a system like that in place when he lead the league in assists, so it could work for LeBron as well.
