I am #hypedforgaryharris but I don’t feel like the rest of the world is following suit. They are #hypedfornikolajokic at about ten times the rate of Gary “Hairy Garris” Harris. This hype discrepancy is regrettable but understandable at the same time: Harris’ ceiling is a twenty-point-per-game scorer who doesn’t do a whole lot else. Sort of like a Jason Richardson maybe. Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic’s ceiling is basically a combination of the best attributes of Kareem, Olajuwon, Russell, and Chamberlain all stuffed into the body of a young adult male who doesn’t exercise or lift weights. I personally would love to have Jason Richardson 2.0 back in the league but I would definitely be way more hyped for Kaljusellain 2.0 with pudgy arms.
That doesn’t mean I want my legions of fans to stop using my #hypedforgaryharris hashtag to announce their love for Gary Harris on their preferred social media platform. It just means that I will understand if your hype is not currently at sufficient levels to post such a hashtag. DTB can be vindictive and cruel at times, but he also display emotions on the opposite end of the spectrum such as compassion and understanding.
