This was not a good game for Nikola Jokic. Even the best players have off nights sometimes, that’s just the way things go. There’s no reason to panic, or to declare Mason Plumlee the future of the franchise and send Jokic to the D-League (G-League?????). Now is not the time to start second-guessing certain trades that may or may not have just been completed with the Portland Trailblazers.
So, bad game for Jokic. Says the boxscore. These highlights, though, tell a different tale. That’s the great thing about these videos: I can make it look like a player had a good game even when they obviously did not. I’ve made Robert Sacre look good. ROBERT SACRE. That speaks to the power of YouTube highlights, because Sacre has very obviously never EVER had a good game in the NBA. It’s the same deal here. Jokic got totally postered by Wiggins, Jokic missed a bunch of shots, but you don’t get to see those. You don’t WANT to see those. You want your vision of a never-missing never-turnovering Magic Jokson to be maintained. FOREVER.
