I watched a bunch of this game, because it was the first game to start after the way-too-long All-Star break. I was desperate, what can I say? I didn’t care that it was two mediocre teams mediocrely mediocring each other. I had to watch. I needed to watch.
And here’s what I saw: Terrence Ross taking way too many bad shots, and Jusuf Nurkic flinging passes just like Nikola Jokic does. That first thing isn’t relevant right now, but that second one definitely is. Some of Nurkic’s passes worked (the ones you see in the video, plus a sweet one to Noah Vonleh who then blew the gimme), some of them didn’t (like the one that hit Nikola Vucevic’s ass before going out of bounds), but the overall affect was like watching Jokic 0.7, with more defense.
Nurkic also airballed a jumper. That airball was offset by the sheer amount of times he made Vucevic his bitch in the post, so it’s all good.
