I thought for sure that eight would be the most three-balls that Nic Batum had hit in a game. After all, Batum is a decent three-point shooter, but he’s never been one who takes a high volume of shots from out there. However, back in 2012 while was still on the Blazers, he hit nine three-balls in a single game and scored 33 points, making this performance totally meaningless. Why would you watch this video when you could go watch that video, assuming it exists?
There was also a notable occurrence where Batum hit two of Navarro’s balls during an Olympic match, thus earning him the nickname “The Ballbuster” (actually I just made it up but I think I will use it from now on). For some reason the refs didn’t give him any points for it. In fact, I think they gave him a foul. Or two fouls.
Anyway, back to the present time! Batum’s second-half heroics weren’t enough to propel the Hornets to victory, but we can blame the loss on the MKG fouling out in twenty minutes while scoring two points, as well as Treveon “Tony Snell” Graham, whose only contribution to the statsheet was getting one rebound in seven minutes. If either of those guys had been able to pull it together enough to score twenty or even ten points, this game wouldn’t have even gone to overtime. I bet Batum punched them in the nads afterwards.
