The Sergeballu LaMu Sayonga Loom Walahas Jonas Hugo Ibaka experiment was a failure in Orlando. Not Sergeballu’s fault, really, short of LeBron, there wasn’t much that was going to get that team into the playoffs. So the Magic did the right thing and traded him to a team that is poised to not only make the playoffs, but to make some noise in the playoffs. Everybody’s happy: Sergeballu gets to win some games for once, Masai Ujiri gets his favorite dude, and the Magic get to move Aaron Gordon back to his proper position.
DownToBuck wins as well, because I hardly ever get to make highlights of Raptors players anymore. Valanciunas never scores above 20, and the rest of their players besides Lowry and DeRozan espcially never score any points at all. Ibaka can come in and score 15 points consistently, which means more videos depicting my absolute fave Canadian NBA team.
Does this move put them over the top so that they contend with Cleveland? That’s the whole point right now, and I’d say it brings them closer to that goal. Especially combined with the trade for P.J. “LeBron Stopper” Tucker. I’m going to remain slightly pessimistic, because I remember how badly Toronto has disappointed in the past, but things are looking slighty better. Maybe. At least until the Cavs sign Paul Pierce.
