We just found out that James Harden is a product of his system. A “system babby” if you will. Pat Beverley was just one assist and two rebounds shy of a triple-double, but we have been conditioned to believe that Harden’s relentless stream of triple-doubles is something to be admired and adulated. Um, if Pat Beverley can almost get a triple-double, it’s because the system he plays in is conducive to putting up the necessary stats.
Just ignore the fact that the Sun’s league-worst defense put up only a token amount of resistance when trying to prevent any Rockets player from scoring. My narrative is that James Harden is overrated due to the D’Antoni system and I will not let evidence that contradicts that narrative to be introduced here. You know, I bet you could put Brandon Knight into this system and he would average 26/8/9. Matthew Dellavedova would average 18/9/12. That’s how you know Harden is a system babby.
Unrelated, but I sort of wonder if this video will get a bunch of dislikes from salty Thunder fans who still remember when this guy injured Westbrook on purpose. Now that I’ve said a bunch of inflammatory stuff in this description, it’s not clear what the source of the dislikes will be, but I bet that will be a major component of it. Hopefully the likes from people happy for Beverley having the best game of his career will offset the saltiness.
