The good thing about making Shabazz Muhammad highlights is that you’ll never have to worry about him having gotten too many assists. His season high in assists is two. Two assists. He’s so bad at passing that one of the Timberwolves commentators went in on him HARD after he charged his way into a turnover during a 3-on-1 fastbreak a few days ago. It was brutal. I almost had to turn it off – it reminded me of when the Sacramento guys would rip Cousins for lollygagging on defense or whatever.
I revisited the “passes made” stat on the NBA stats website, and, what do you know, Shabazz is still way down there at the bottom. Out of players who get real minutes in a real amount of games, only Anthony Morrow, Rashad Vaughn, and Miles Plumlee are worse. I can’t complain too much, given that my highlights are about scoring more than anything else and scoring is something that Shabazz does well, but his total inability to create for others will significantly limit his potential. Shabazz should work on developing this part of his game so he can get bigger contracts going forward.
