James Johnson is now, officially, a three-point shooter. Before tonight, he was a “guy who shoots threes”. There is a distinction, and if you don’t know what it is, I’m not going to explain it to you. Figure it out yourself, dummy.
Six made threes is the official delimiter between those two categories of players, and James Johnson has now officially made that many in a single game. Six high-arcing bombs from deep, bringing, as the Heat commentator said, rain and pain to the good people of Charlotte.
Johnson can now move forward with his career confident in the knowledge that he is a three-point shooter. He can shoot as many of them as he wants, and no one can say he is taking too many. A three-point shooter can never take too many threes.
