At the time Justin Anderson was traded to the Sixers in the Noel deal, I was fully in the “Justin Anderson is wildly overrated by Mavs fans desperate for any kind of young talent” camp, but I have to say, he has done a pretty good job of proving me wrong. He’s still not a reliable three-point shooter, but the rest of his scoring game is progressing nicely, and I swear he’s taller than his listed 6’6″. It’s hard to say if he’ll ever be a starter-quality player, but it’s at least a possibility for him, something I wouldn’t have said two months into the season when he was playing poorly for a very bad Mavericks team.
The only thing that throws me off about this dude is that he’s obviously black, yet his hair is brown. How did that happen? More importantly, how do we get it to stop happening? His facial hair is the same color as his skin, so whenever he has a beard it looks like his chin is falling off his face. I’m not a professional genetics person or anything, but damn. It’s so weird.
