This is the fifth straight game where Devin Booker has attempted at least twenty field goals (twenty-nine in this game). He has been totally unleashed with Bledsoe and Knight on the bench, and while this ultimate green light hasn’t been great for his effiency, it’s been great for his ability to score points. I don’t know if the Suns’ plan is to try to get better next year, but if it is, these final few games of the season might be the last time that we get to see the Booker Report be in total control like he is now.
Speaking of Knight and Bledsoe, you can see them pretending to be happy on the bench, but you know they’re salty as heck watching this twenty-year-old who took their jobs. Knight is probably remembering how he averaged twenty PPG for a bad Suns team and nobody even cared, yet here’s this guy averaging 22 on only slightly better percentages and everybody’s got his sack in their mouths. Bledsoe is also thinking about how he averaged twenty for the same bad Suns team, and on better percentages than Devin, but because he’s an old man in Suns terms at 27, he’s been discarded. Those are the kind of situations where you put a smile on your face and inside, you’re crying.
