Bobby Brown is an NBA player. He was apparently still in the league around the time I started actually caring about scrubs in the NBA, but I don’t remember any of his earlier stint. At all. Does anyone? He was on four different teams in his only previous two years, so maybe there’s a handful of fans of those teams who remember his crappy tenures with them.
His reappearance on the Rockets, 6 years later, came out of nowhere. It’s rare that a bad role-player takes a bunch of years off in Europe or wherever and then comes back. P.J. Tucker did it, Sonny Weems kind of did it, but I can’t think of many other examples. Here we are, though. Bobby Brown. NBA player. Headband wearer.
He must be a friend of Harden’s or something, because I can’t imagine his quality of play was the deciding factor in bringing him back into the luxurious folds of the NBA. He’s played only very limited minutes (until tonight, hell yeah I love April NBA so god-damn much), minutes where he’s chucked a bunch of shots. Most of them didn’t go in, but tonight, a bunch of them did, and now he has a shiny new season-high of 16! I thought it might be a career-high, but he scored 21 once. If someone can hook me up with that full game, my life will feel incomplete until I can compile highlights of that one.
