The Bulls, despite me (and their entire fanbase) never shutting up about how much they sucked throughout the year, are somehow up 2-0 on the top-seeded Boston Celtics. This is as baffling to me as I’m sure it is for you. I mean, I saw them quit halfway through the season. I saw it with my own eyes. They managed to scrape their way into the playoffs, because the East gargles scrote, and now I’m supposed to believe that they’re a good team? Maybe they’re finally playing up to their talent level, even if their talent is a mishmash of ball-dominant guards and iffy role-players.
Robin Lopez has been one of their more consistent players throughout the season. He’s not amazing or anything, but he’s super solid. His stats are not quite as good as his last few years (he was underrated for a long time), but a totally respectable starting center.
Tonight, Fropez dominated the Celtics on the offensive glass and pummeled them with endless midrange jumpers. The first part, you can kind of expect. The second part, no, I don’t think many were expecting that. The Boston crowd became more and more deflated as he canned deep two after deep two. He’s come a long away since being a towel-waver extraordinaire on the Suns with Steve Nash, hasn’t he?
