The Nets are currently the highest-scoring team in the league. If you’re a future visitor to this video, first, I bet the future is really awesome, and second, we’re currently just four games into the season, so the Nets being in front at this stage doesn’t mean a whole lot.
The real mind-blowing thing about the Nets being in the position they are is that they’re doing it while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is receiving major minutes. You know, the guy I’ve ragged on for the past two seasons due to his complete incompetence at scoring the ball in conventional ways. Now, RHJ is averaging 14 PPG on 56% shooting (reminder: through only four games), and the commentators can’t stop making comments on how this version of RHJ looks nothing like the RHJ they knew and loved for his first two years in the league.
I really hope that both the Nets as a team and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as an individual experience a serious regression to the mean soon. I don’t know if I can bear to live in a world where RHJ is not only capable of scoring, but is better at it than most of his peers.
