We saw a whole other facet of J.J. Redick’s game that had scarcely been seen previously. A new, gleaming facet, polished to a blinding finish, shining with the radiance of the 76ers ever-advancing process. That facet, you ask?
Layups.
Normally I am not in favor of layups, but since it’s J.J. Redick we’re talking about, I’ll give it a pass. Normally, as you all know, he’s more of a perimeter shooter than a cutting-to-the-basket slasher extraordinaire. His T-Rex arms and subpar footspeed usually limit him to areas of the court where there aren’t huge giants trying to block his shot, but tonight, it’s like the Suns forgot that he even had the option to lay it in.
Despite his rejuvenated inside game, he failed to dunk the basketball. Can’t say I’m surprised.
