I was among those who overreacted to the Magic’s hot start to the season. I thought that this was the year they finally put it together, not forming a contender but at least a low-seeded playoff team. It would only be fitting that, after so many years of thinking they would be good but weren’t, that the year I think they would be bad they would be good.
Nope.
Oh well. Things will work out eventually for them, even it takes another total roster overhaul. In the meantime, we can watch Jonathon Simmons do things he never did for the Spurs, like take midrange jumpers and lose games. Simmons put together a really nice first half tonight, scoring 16 on all sorts of shots. The second half wasn’t nearly as kind to him, but 21 points is 21 points, a total he never reached with the Spurs.
