If I’m a Grizzlies fan, I’m going to think about going into hibernation over the winter. The identity that defined the Grizzlies in years past is gone, replaced by… Tyreke Evans putting up big numbers in losses. And Marc Gasol calling everyone out but nothing changing. Just a quick little hibernation sesh until Mike Conley comes back, maybe see if he can rejuvenate things. If they’re even still remotely in the playoff hunt at that point. If not, continue the hibernation until early April or so, just in time to see the Pistons charge through the playoffs and win the championship.
At the very least, Evans is rejuvenating his career. I didn’t think it was possible, I thought he was kind of washed, but he’s getting closer and closer to averaging 20 a game on the season, something he hasn’t done since he was a stat-padding rookie. If Gasol gets traded, and he totally will at this point, it will be just like the old days with TyFreke, and we can relive his ROY award all over again.
