Oof. Tough loss for the Grizzlies in this one. Things just aren’t going their way. Good news is, if they keep losing games they get to punch their ticket for Luka Doncic in the upcoming draft. Bad news is, losing really sucks. More bad news is that I can tell Marc Gasol is losing his will to live bit by bit with each accumulating loss.
I’m starting to wonder how well Tyreke “Tank Commander” Evans’ increased stats are helping his team win. Well, I’ve been wondering that for the bulk of his career if we’re being honest. He’s good, but is he elevating his team, pushing them to greater heights? It doesn’t seem like it. Has he ever done that? Maybe, a few years ago, when I wasn’t paying attention.
The flipside of that argument is that if the Grizzlies didn’t have Evans, they might not have won more than 3 or 4 games this season. So he is helping his team win? I just don’t know. It’s so hard to tell, and since I can’t think about basketball except in the most superficial of ways, there’s no way I’ll ever be able to.
