Coming into tonight’s game, Edrice “Bam” Adebayo had dunked it on 21 of his 31 made shots. Can you say dunkilation? Sadly, he only dunked it on 2 of 5 shots tonight, so his dunk percentage will plummet. My hope for a nothing-but-dunk season for him ended a long time ago, but it’s still sad.
Now I’m wondering who holds the record for dunkiest season, in terms of percentage of field goals being dunks. I don’t have any way to figure it out, but it definitely isn’t -insert comically short white player here-. Let’s just go with DeAndre Jordan and call it a night.
At this point in his career, you don’t really want Adebayo to do much on offense besides stuff right at the rim. With his height, that usually means dunks, but it meant layups as well in this game. His jumper is a work in progress, and him handling the ball would surely end in turnovers and anguished expressions from Spoelstra.
