Are jumpshots a part of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s game now? I’m looking at his shot chart and comparing it to previous years, and the results are inconclusive. Maybe he’s shooting a few more this year? It’s easy to think of him as an around-the-rim-only player, but players his size are basically forced to take at least some jumpers.
The stat that’s really blowing my mind is that he’s shooting 58% in the “short midrange”, around free-throw distance, this season. He’s not taking a whole ton of them, but that’s, like, elite I bet. MKG is elite at shooting jumpshots is what I’m trying to say. It’s right there in the stats my man.
