It’s really amazing how consistently Nikola Vucevic manages to shoot no free throws. He’s the least free-throw-prone center in the league, by far, and he proved it again tonight. He took 20 shots, to go with a big old goose egg in the FTA column. If he feels like there’s too much contact while he’s banging in the post, he’ll bust out his turnaround fadeaway jumper instead of fighting through. A fair strategy, but I think Magic fans are starting to lose their minds over how soft he is.
It was an interesting dynamic tonight, Softy McSoftevic vs. Jusuf Nurkic, who is about the furthest from soft it is possible to be. Vucevic came out ahead in points, but Nurkic got the win. There’s probably some inferences to draw from that, but I’m not going to figure them out. I’m just going to admire the 12 beautiful buckets on display here.
