Time for a hot take. I don’t know how hot it actually is since I don’t pay as much attention to the Nuggets as I should, but I feel like it’s at least a take somewhere between “warm” and “sizzly”, if it’s not completely blazing hot. Here’s my hot take:
Trey Lyles is a better fit next to Nikola Jokic than Millsap is.
Boom. Wasn’t that a super fiery take? I was able to think of and relate such a take because Millsap is out right now, Trey Lyles is playing well in his absence, and the Nuggets are looking pretty good while all this is going on. Unlike Millsap, Lyles doesn’t need to handle the ball. In fact, he probably AVOIDS handling the ball whenever possible because he knows he can’t do it. So, with Lyles being an inverse ballhog, that means there’s more ball for Jokic. I might be blatantly pandering so Serbs by saying this, but Jokic needs to have the ball in his hands more than anybody else on the Nuggets, and it’s not really close. Lyles helps him do that.
Second hot take: it is unethical to refill your cup of soda to the brim when you know you’re going to leave the fast food restaurant within the next five minutes and take the soda with you.
