Torrey Craig 14 Points Full Highlights (12/18/2017)

The deal with these players on two-way contracts is that they just pop up out of nowhere without anyone being aware. Just, BAM, they’re sitting there in the boxscore with their 2 points in 5 minutes or whatever. At least with 10-days there was some notice that they got signed; right now I am overwhelmed by super-marginal NBA-ish talent.

Enter Torrey Craig. MVP of the New Zealand basketball league, DPOY of the Australian basketball league, D-League star, and now, 14-points-in-an-actual-real-life-NBA-game-featuring-Russell-Westbrook player. He had the game sealing block against the Pelicans in his first ever game, showing off his defensive capabilities, but tonight he showed that he can also score the rock too. 14 points, a perfect 5 of 5 from the field, and I bet he plied his trademark defense against the Thunder’s “big three”.

Side note that is totally unrelated to anything but I’m pissed: So I’m reading this article about his breakthrough into the NBA, and Mike Malone mentioned that Oshkosh (location of a D-League team which is why Craig was there), Wisconsin is “the middle of nowhere”. WTF? Now, obviously he’s never been there, so I’m gonna educate him: Oshkosh is a principal city of the thriving Fox River Valley micropolis. It has culture, beer, industry, and a university I’m pretty sure. So there.
