Normally I would express wonderment at the Bulls’ extension of their winning streak to seven games, but nobody should be at all surprised that the Bulls were able to beat the Magic. Maybe I didn’t expect the 112-94 blowout they laid out on them, but I and everybody else expected this win. The Bulls are a hot team right now (too early to reminisce about the Heat’s streak last year, though), and the Magic are have been straight up sewer juice for the past month or so.
Denzel Valentine has been living up to the NCAA POTY of the Year award that he collected while in college by becoming a consistent and reliable three-point threat. His minutes are going to take a big hit when Zach LaVine comes back, but really I hope that Jerian Grant just gets excised from the rotation entirely so that Valentine can keep playing as LaVine’s full-time backup. The reason I hope that is because I have a visceral distaste for Grant’s squashed, turnip-looking face but for some reason Valentine’s permanent Halloween mask doesn’t disturb me a bit.
