With his 2-for-2 performance tonight, Jayson Tatum pushes his three-point percentage back up to a nice round 50. Somehow he is still behind George Hill (wtf I thought he was sucking) in that category, but there’s no shame in being second place with that kind of stat. We’re getting close to the halfway point of the season, and we’ve got a ROOKIE taking a non-trivial amount of threes and making half of them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls a 2009-10 Kyle Korver and just stops shooting them unless he’s super duper wide open as the season nears its conclusion. Already, he’s careful with his attempts, passing up looks when maybe he shouldn’t. He’s got enough offensive tools where he doesn’t need to jack threes to be good, but I don’t think anyone would say no to him jacking threes. Raw volume is more impressive than percentages I think.
