For those keeping score at home, this performance makes 6 of 8 good (“good” meaning double-digit scoring, I don’t have time to figure out if these are actually good or not) games for Mario Hezonja since he started getting major minutes regularly. The Magic have lost all those games, but they were going to lose those games no matter what. I don’t blame Mario.
I feel like his sudden “not-so-bad”-ness is going unnoticed by a lot of people. He’s playing big minutes, and maybe he’s not doing amazing or anything, but he’s kinda productive and doing way better, certainly, than he has at any other point in his bustacean (that’s a play on the words “Bust” and “Crustacean” which further loops back to LeBron’s infamous “Crab Dribble”) NBA career. Players un-busting themselves is somewhat rare in the NBA, and that’s what Mario is doing right now. Right now, before our eyes.
