I figured that 22 points would be Montrezl “Mon-Trezzle” Harrell’s career high, but I just looked it up and it turns out that, last season, he scored 28 and 29 points on separate occasions in the span of a week. I had no recollection of those games from Harrell when I set out to make this video, but now that I’m looking at the box-scores I guess I sort of remember being impressed by Harrell’s scoring outbursts at the time. I probably wrote some words in the video description about how Dwight Howard was crying in the locker room because he was getting outplayed by an undersized second-year player.
This particular scoring outburst would be more impressive (from an entertainment perspective) if it had more alley-oops. Harrell has shown in the past that he catches alley-oops with more fury than anyone in the league. However, it’s hard to watch this video and not come away impressed with Harrell’s absolute nonstop hustle. He might never be a rebounding machine like Reggie Evans, but he’ll definitely try his hardest to get the rebounds that are near him. His 6’8″ height might pose a little bit of a problem when most power forwards and centers are at least two inches taller, but his huge mass can easily shove those wispy, weakling twigs out of the way.
