Sorry Thunder fans. Giannis totally stepped out of bounds on the game-winning drive. But the good news to take away from this game is that we are seeing the resurgence of John Henson. That probably doesn’t make you feel any better, but it makes ME feel better, because I remember when this guy was getting DNP-CD’s last year and Miles Plumlee was ahead of him in the rotation.
Henson has always been a frustrating player. He’s pretty soft and skinny, so he usually gets eaten up by bigger dudes with post presence (why Steven Adams didn’t go off for thirty tonight is beyond me). His jumpshot is a mirage (albeit one that gets closer to reality all the time) and he doesn’t really have any scoring moves outside of his hook shot. These things limit him from being an impact scorer or a consistently good defender. But now he’s shooting over 60% from the field as his teammates realize that it’s a good idea to find him near the basket, so I’ve redone the paint job on my car so it reads “John Henson’s contract is okay value now” across the hood of my car in Bucks colors.
My ride doesn’t really attract the girls, but thanks to my pimped-out wheels, I’ve had two or three real good, deep conversations with local Bucks fans who agree with my new opinion on Henson’s 4-year, $44 million extension. That’s way more important than girls any day.
