When Wayne Ellington scores, the Heat win. When he doesn’t, the Heat lose. Simple. Three points or fewer from the man with the golden arm, the Heat haven’t won a game this season out of 8 tries. The conclusion here is simple: make sure Ellington is warmed up properly before the game, has had his favorite supper of mushed-up Pringles covered in barbecue sauce, is properly hydrated, and gets lots of touches so you can win some frickin’ games.
Ellington is having his best season as a pro, almost a decade into his career. His patented “come of the screen and jump about five feet into the air before shooting the triple” move is pretty much unguardable. So what if he does a little shuffle before a lot of them that could be called a travel? Everyone shuffles. Shuffles aren’t really travels.
