It’s a good thing the Lakers won this game. One more loss and I felt like the whole thing was going to explode. The players, the coaches, the media dudes, the concession workers, the towel bots, the front office, Magic Johnson, it was all a gigantic powderkeg just waiting for a spark. I don’t know how much of it media sensationalizing and how much of it is real, but they have been losing a lot of games.
But as everyone knows, winning smooths over a lot of problems in the same way that losing exacerbates them, and the Lakers are now on an extended one-game winning streak. They used a whole team effort to dominate the Hawks (who are so god damn bad but a win is a win), with no player besides Brandon Ingram getting over 20. That means not many highlights for me, a rarity when a team drops 130-plus.
Ingram would have certainly done more damage had the game been closer, but he has to settle with 20 points and 7 assists in three quarters of work. Actually, maybe it’s better that he didn’t play more; don’t want to mess up that near-perfect 6 of 7 from the field.
