Pascal Siakam took 10 shots tonight, making 7 of them. A nice performance overall, good for 16 points. But the 3 he missed? All three-pointers, bringing his percentage down to a ludicrous 14 percent on over 2 attempts per game. Is this game evidence enough that he should stick to things inside the arc? He’s shooting an elite 60 percent on shots that he can make, you know, the ones that are only worth two points but does that matter when you can’t even begin to consistently hit the more valuable ones?
That might have been a lot of words for him, so if he’s reading this: stop shooting threes you dumbo.
It may seem like I’m being too hard on him at a weird time considering he was part of the bench mob that crushed the Cavaliers tonight. Maybe I am. But not every bigman has to shoot threes. People are still totally okay with bigs who play mostly on the inside. He can always come back next year after having worked on the shot for the whole offseason.
