De’Aaron Fox is no longer the leading minutes-getter on the Kings (that honor belongs to George “Angry Emojis” Hill), but he’s still third on the team at 26.8 MPG. Or he’s second on the team because Willie Cauley-Stein is also getting 26.8 MPG. Whatever. The point is, De’Aaron Fox is getting played like he’s the best player on the Kings, but his win-shares are negative this season, which indicates to me that he is one of the main reasons why the Kings are such trash this year.
That’s fine. It’s all cool. Fox needs to develop and he’s not going to develop if Hill eats all his minutes just to get the Kings four or five extra wins this season. Sacramento is where rookies go to die, but maybe the trend will be reversed with Fox; he’s scored in double digits seven of the last ten games, so if his spirit has been broken by this cursed franchise, he’s doing a good job of hiding that fact.
