Domantas Sabonis has already surpassed his field goal total from last season by a significant amount, and we’re only in the month of January. After making 192 field goals all of last season, he’s made 233 this season, in 400 fewer minutes of court time. This disparity seems too large to chalk up entirely to Sabonis’ quick development. There was something about the Thunder that was holding him down.
I’m not going to name names. But the name I’m thinking of rhymes with “Muscle Best Cook”, and this person often wears outrageous outfits that look like rejects from the most pretensious fashion show in the universe. That’s all I’m going to say on the matter.
Everybody was ragging on the Pacers for making the Paul George for Sabonis/Oladipo trade. I was among those doing the ragging, although I don’t quite remember if I ever left textual evidence of my opinion. Hopefully I didn’t, because with every hyper-efficient game that Sabonis has (not to mention Oladipo’s All-Starness), that trade looks more and more like a steal. Maybe I should just pretend that I was on board with the trade the entire time. Then people would think I’m smart.
