Taurean Prince 21 Points Full Highlights (1/26/2018)

Most teams in the NBA have a “big three” or something close to it. At a minimum they have a “big two”, meaning they have two players who are both part of the long-term plans of the team and have at least fringe All-Star potential. My entire life revolves me attempting to determine the “big n” (n being a variable with a value of one to three) of each team in the NBA. My desk is littered with notes and diagrams in my quest to precisely identify which players comprise these mystical triumvirates.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m not sure if the Hawks even have a “big one”, much less a “big two” or a “big three”. If they have a “big one”, it’s Dennis Schröder, but it’s unclear to me whether he actually possesses an All-Star ceiling or if he’s just accumulating good stats on a bad team. At this point, neither Taurean Prince (the subject of the highlight video that you may or may not be currently watching) and John Collins could be considered part of the “big n”. Prince is a fine scorer early in his career, but his ceiling might be a 16 PPG guy. John Collins is a fine young player as well, I am very, very hyped for him, but he’s not a surefire All-Star either.

Honestly, the best candidate for a “big n” player on the Hawks is their upcoming draft pick, which should, barring extreme misfortune, be enough to snag one of the hot prospects in next year’s draft. As long as that prospect doesn’t turn out to be a Marvin Williams.
