Not shown: JaVale McGee airballing a three that he had no business taking. I thought about it, as a sort of “compare and contrast” between that and his previous 7-for-7 shooting including, in fairness, a sweet turnaround fading jumper over Gobert that he also had no business taking. But I don’t do lowlights. If you want those, you’ll have to find some other channel.
I don’t really blame him for shooting it. The DNPs have been more and more frequent lately for him, he hardly gets to play, he was “hot”, the Warriors were down by a million, why not shoot it? It didn’t work as he intended, as so many of his schemes, but you can’t fault him for trying. And I’m sure he hits them all the time in shootaround, because almost every NBA player hits them all the time in shootaround.
Aside from that, he had the best game of the season tonight, doing his usual dunking and blocking that delighted us so much last year. This guy is basically Wilt playing in 2018, and for some reason he can’t get minutes. I don’t understand. The sequence at 0:15 is the most Wilt-esque thing I’ve seen all year, and he can’t even steal a few minutes from Zaza Pachulia or Kevon Looney? Here’s the deal: the Bucks offer Thon Maker for McGee. I am acting on behalf of the Bucks right now and that is the deal I offer.
