Everybody’s got their undies in a bundle over Andre Drummond’s 21/22 game against the Lavaliers (get it, because they’re holding this L? LOL [lots of laughs]), and, to a lesser extent, Enes Kanter’s even 20/20 against the Nets. But those people with their undies so bundled should unbundle their undies immediately, because what you should really be caring about right now is Kosta “The Big Gyro” Koufos dropping 17/17 on the Pelicans.
Not only did Koufos terrorize the Pels both in the paint on the glass, but he did it whlie burdened with the knowledge that his hair is abandoning him. To overcome this emotional trauma to put up such a strong showing is nothing short of remarkable. To be fair, it helped that Omer Asik was the opposing center for significant stretches of the game. The Big Gyro isn’t the most mobile guy in the world, but he’s about ten times more mobile than Asik.
This is the perfect game for the Kings to showcase Koufos to any and every team looking to shore up their center position with a reliable big man. “He can rebound! He can score! He can contain Omer Asik and to a lesser extent Anthony Davis!”
