Dewayne “Judge Dedd” Dedmon might be one of the more underrated players in the league. Now that I’ve said that, he’s probably overrated, but before I had to go and blab, he was putting up solid numbers on a solid contract for a team that sucks whether he’s there or not. That last part doesn’t help his case, but he’s averaging 10 and 7 in only 23 minutes per game.
I thought for sure that he would get traded to a team who needed a super-solid plug-and-play semi-strechy big for the playoffs. He’s good for the Hawks, but since Miles Plumlee and his bonkers contract aren’t going anywhere for a while, they might as well trade him for what he’s worth. Which is a first-round pick.
Yeah. That’s how bullish I am on Dedmon. It’s possible that no team was offering what the Hawks wanted, and it’s also possible that they simply ignored anyone who called asking for him. But damn, I bet the Spurs really wish they had him back. Oh man. So perfect.
