I don’t know what the DTB all-time record is for earliest-ending highlight video is, but this performance has got to be up there. Michael Beasley scored a bucket with 11:40 remaining in the third quarter. And that was it. No more Beasley. He did some more things, but they were all un-highlight-worthy.
Looking at this video, the shots he was making by the end of the first half weren’t really sustainable. That’s quite a thing to say about Beasley, who makes a living hitting tough shots, but these were even more unsustainable than usual. Only people who watched just the boxscore would expect him to hit 40; Knicks fans watching the game probably expected him to punch Erik Spoelstra and get ejected, while Heat fans watching the game wondered where this was when they drafted him.
