You know things are going good for you as a player when your commentators do that little half-snort thing when you make a shot. That’s normally a sound reserved for the opposing team’s commentators to make.
Terry Rozier was that player tonight. He was throwing up shots, and they were going down. He did the throwing up thing so often that he threw up a career-high 33 points onto the scoreboard. He was dry-heaving a bit at the end, but no one in the world can take away what he accomplished here.
Kyrie Irving can take his time coming back from his injury issues. All the time he needs. I say this because, obviously, Rozier is willing and able to exactly replace Irving’s “elite” production. And, the biggest thing is, he’s willing to keep silent about all the crazy stuff he believes in while doing it. Did you know he believes in that chemtrails conspiracy? He totally does, but he keeps it on the down low because he is a professional who knows that his opinion on stuff that isn’t basketball-related is totally irrelevant.
In fact if Irving could maybe miss the whole first round of the playoffs that would be perfect. There’s no way the Celtics are gonna get beat by, say, the Bucks in the first round, so he can just rest until the second round. Please.
