Noah Vonleh is trying out a new look with the Bulls: a three-point shooting look. He’s just letting it fly from deep, and I don’t need to tell you why he’s allowed to do that, and the reason is not because he’s an elite three-baller. He can make them, and that’s about all you can say about that.
Because of this new-found chuckiness, he’s been putting up some reasonable scoring numbers as the season closes for the Bulls. The first time he’s ever done such a thing in his career. In fact, if it weren’t for a 16-point explosion in his rookie year (quick quiz: which team drafted him?), this would be a career-high in points. That’s really messed up, I hope you agree. 14 points in his 4th season should be nowhere near a career-high for a top-10 pick.
Will a team give him a contract for next year? I’m afraid he’s going to wash out of the league after his rookie deal. Some team might take a flyer on him, because he still has that top-10 pedigree no matter how offensively inept he becomes, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him putting up huge numbers in Turkey like Ekpe Udoh did. Maybe even huger.
