Khris Middleton AKA Kha$h Money Deuces AKA Middrange AKA Money Midrange AKA James Khristian Middleton finished the first quarter of this game with fifteen points and seemed to be well on his way to forty (a total we all know he is very capable of scoring), but at some point he stopped scoring and he didn’t even get thirty. What’s the point of being the best midrange scorer in the league if you’re not even going make your presence felt in the fourth quarter and overtime?
Here’s the truth: Khris Middleton has made the second-most midrange shots in the league this year. He’s made 211 of them. The loser ahead of him, LaMarcus Aldridge, has made 214, but is only shooting 42% on those attempts (Kha$h Money is shooting 50% on Middrange looks). Only Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are close to him while also shooting such a high percentage. It’s not a stretch to say that Middleton is an ELITE midrange scorer. That’s why it’s unacceptable for him to disappear for stretches of the game. He needs AT LEAST two of those shots per quarter, and if he’s not converting them, then he needs to take more of them, because nobody can stop him.
